With the rapid growing availability of data on nearly all aspects of life and work - a trend often called 'Big Data' - organizations are being challenged to capitalize on the opportunities of data driven decision making.
In the nonprofit world, the rise of Big Data has made donors increasingly hungry to see quantitative evidence for the impact of contributions provided. Satisfying these new demands for data transparency requires unique data design skills and tools.
Data Visualization, in particular, is a powerful communication medium that can help satisfy your supporters desire to better understand the purpose and impact of your organizations work.
During this session we will conduct a review of key data visualization design concepts and emerging data visualization tools.
Your Learning Objectives/Takeaways:
1. Appreciate the power of Data Visualizations
2. Understand the basics of effective Data Visualization design
3. Be familiar with different Data Visualization tools
4. Know next steps to enhance your understanding of Data Visualization design
